The Tbilisi-based European University has become the partner of the Jo Ann Medical Centre, with the educational institution’s medical students set to undergo practical training at the clinic under the guidance of “leading professionals”, the University announced on Friday.

Set to be rebranded as Jo Ann University Hospital, the facility will host students of the University’s Faculty of Medicine for training, while patients will have the opportunity to receive inpatient and outpatient services “in one space”.

The Jo Ann Medical Centre was founded by American philanthropist Jo Ann McGowan together with Georgian surgeons 25 years ago.

Over the years, the venue has become associated with primary cardiology and cardiac surgery services in Georgia, and was recently transformed into a multi-functional medical facility.
