Mariam Kvrivishvili, the Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, on Friday highlighted the International Ski Federation’s comments on the infrastructure set up to host the Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships in the Georgian town of Bakuriani, adding the resort would host the event in a “dignified manner”.

Kvrivishvili made the remark as she joined an inter-departmental meeting on preparations for hosting the competition that launches on February 16, and noted “all major infrastructure works” had been “practically completed”.

The tournaments will host up to 700 athletes from 42 countries on the main trails of Didveli and Kokhta mountains, where they will compete across seven disciplines.

Georgia was granted the hosting rights of the tournament by FIS congress in 2018. The programme for the Championships, which will run through March 5, is available here.
