The development of Georgia’s ski infrastructure, and cooperation between domestic state institutions with Doppelmayr, an international manufacturer in the field, was discussed between Economy Minister Levan Davitashvili and Doppelmayr Executive Director Thomas Pichler, the Ministry said on Monday.

Pichler congratulated the country’s authorities on the “important success and recognition” in hosting the Freestyle Ski, Snowboard and Freeski World Championships this month, adding the organising institutions had “successfully” managed the objectives of organising the infrastructure for the tournament, setting a “good example” of development with “strong and consistent political will”.

The officials also pointed out the upcoming working session hosted by Doppelmayr, where 40 participants from seven countries of the Black Sea region will use Georgia’s case to review “successful examples” of advancement of winter resorts.

The session will include a visit to Bakuriani for inspecting the infrastructure used for the ongoing Championships.
