Batumi Days, an event introducing dance, folklore, cuisine and other aspects of the Georgian culture in celebration of the country’s Independence Day on Friday are being hosted in Israel, the Tourism Department of Georgia’s western region of Adjara said on Tuesday.
The two-day cultural event has hosted over 2,000 visitors, where master classes and tasting of Georgian culinary dishes were organised for them.

Held in the run-up to the national celebrations, the occasion is introducing those interested in learning about the western seaside province to some of the most popular cuisine offerings.

They include the Adjara regional version of khachapuri cheese-filled bread, khinkali dumplings with spiced meat and churchkhela sweet snacks made from grape must, nuts and flour.

Traditional weaving and embroidery classes are also being hosted in the event, in addition to introductions to household items in Adjara.
The programme also involves dance and song ensembles from the country, the Symphony Orchestra of the Batumi State Music Centre and popular singers from Georgia.
