Journalists from Uzbekistan have visited Georgia's Black Sea city of Batumi in a promotional campaign of the regional Adjara Tourism Department, with media content resulting from the trip set to highlight the location in the Central Asian country.

The Department said on Wednesday the visiting journalists would produce articles, reports and blog posts on the city and locations beyond it, such as mountainous parts of the seaside region.

Visitor attractions like the Mtirala National Park, the ancient coastline Petra Fortress, the Nobel Brothers Museum and Ethnographic Museum were also visited by the group, along with the Batumi Botanical Garden and its tourist facilities.

The Department also noted the timing of the promotional push by noting Uzbekistan Airways, the flag carrier airline of the country, had resumed twice-a-week direct flights between Tashkent and Batumi on May 21.
