Relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan and “fruitful” cooperation in energy, transport, trade and other fields were discussed on Monday in a meeting between the Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili and the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
The Georgian Parliament official, on visit to Azerbaijan, emphasised the legacy of the country’s late President Heydar Aliyev in the formation of a “strong state of Azerbaijan” and the development of “strategic projects” in the South Caucasus, the Georgian Parliament press office said.
Papuashvili also thanked the current President for his “strong support” for the territorial integrity of Georgia and his personal contribution to the “deepening” of the strategic partnership between the two countries.
