Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili will be on an official visit to Azerbaijan between Monday and Tuesday, the Georgian Parliament press office said on Monday.
In the framework of the visit, the head of the Georgian legislative body will hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials, including his counterpart Sahiba Gafarova and Prime Minister Ali Asadov.
Papuashvili will also feature in a special session of the Azerbaijani Parliament, dedicated to the 100th birthday of Heydar Aliyev, the late third president of the country.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili on Thursday hailed the “very important, historical” projects implemented with Azerbaijan, including the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway and the Black Sea Strategic Submarine Electricity Cable projects, noting the relations between the countries have been “tested by time” and “at the highest level”.
