Georgia’s Revenue Service on Friday said its professionals had prevented an attempt of smuggling of a “large quantity” of undeclared tobacco products over the country’s southern border.

The body said the attempt had been made at the Ninotsminda checkpoint across the border with Armenia, where officers seized 31,980 packs of cigarettes following a detailed inspection of foreign citizen’s car.

The case has been handed over to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance.
