Péter Szijjártó, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary on a visit to Georgia, on Thursday noted the Georgian Government’s work to preserve the country’s sovereignty amid increasing external pressure.
In his comment on social media, Szijjártó noted Georgia was facing “similar challenges” as Hungary.
We have a strategic partnership based on friendship and common values. One clear sign of this will be the Government summit in October, during which we will hold a joint Government meeting in Tbilisi”, the top Hungarian diplomat said.
Earlier today, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili discussed the country’s European integration prospects and the Black Sea submarine cable international project with Szijjártó.
The discussion also reviewed cooperation between the two states in “various sectors” and the growing trade between them.
