The “principal” directions of cooperation between Hungary and Georgia were discussed on Friday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and Balázs Orbán, the director of the political department of the Prime Minister of Hungary.
The officials reviewed the prospects of deepening the economic and energy partnership, the Government Administration said.
The parties also highlighted “special” friendly relations between the two countries, with Orbán vowing his country’s “consistent” support to Georgia.
Garibashvili highlighted the European Commission’s new report on Georgia’s progress on the path of European integration, by saying it had confirmed that the country, as a “top reformer”, deserved to be granted the membership candidate status.
