Klaus Ehrlich, the Secretary General of European Federation of Rural Tourism, was among visitors of the stand.

When you meet people at the exhibition and see what they offer, you realize that this is real, and especially in the case of Adjara - you are far away from the trouble zone and you are close to Turkey - that makes it also easier and more attractive to travel to Georgia. I think It is very important to have direct contact with potential customers instead of being somewhere online and offering your tourism attractions”, he said.

Lela Goguadze, the Head of the Tourism Product Development Agency of the Tourism Department of Adjara, noted the participation marked the region’s first promotion at the event.

Western European markets are one of our target markets, taking into account the fact that we see an increase in the number of visitors and have direct flights. The Adjara Tourism Department will continue to promote the region at international tourist exhibitions throughout the year”, she said.

Adjara’s tourism potential has been promoted at events in 20 countries this year, including Germany, Italy, Israel and Spain.
