Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, said Russia’s success in Ukraine would mean the “extinction of any hope of freedom” in Georgia and Moldova.

In his statement on Saturday, Johnson described the Kremlin aggression against Ukraine as “a vicious and a barbarian attack on innocent civilians,” warning that Russia’s victory in the war would give “green light to autocrats everywhere.”

The UK PM added he thought the world leaders would make a mistake if they tried to “renormalise relations” with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Russia began its military assault on Ukraine on February 24, following Putin’s announcement of the recognition of the independence of the Ukrainian regions of Donetsk and Luhansk on February 21.

The international community has condemned the invasion, expressing support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
