Security challenges created in the Black Sea region as a result of the ongoing hostilities in Ukraine, and the European Union membership bids submitted by the Associate Trio countries of Georgia, Ukraine and Moldova, were discussed at a meeting of Georgian and Polish Prime Ministers on Thursday.
In the meeting, hosted in Georgia’s Black Sea coast city of Batumi, Irakli Garibashvili reassured his Polish colleague of Georgia's political support and solidarity with Ukraine, including through humanitarian assistance provided by the Georgian side to the Ukrainian people amid the ongoing conflict.

The two prime ministers stressed the role of the joint efforts of the international community in de-escalating the situation in Ukraine, and discussed measures being taken to end the war in the country.
The meeting also focused on Georgia's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations, as well as the progress made by the country on this path. The Georgian PM spoke about the importance of the positive decision of the European Commission regarding Georgia's bid for EU membership, and the support of international partners, including Poland, in the process.
During the meeting, the two leaders also highlighted the “difficult” humanitarian and security situation in the Russian-occupied territories of Georgia. Morawiecki reaffirmed his strong support for Georgia's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as its European and Euro-Atlantic integration process.
