Traffic movement and municipal transport routes will be restricted on downtown Tbilisi’s Rustaveli Avenue between late on Tuesday and Monday next week for planned road repair works, Tbilisi city hall has announced.
Starting at midnight, vehicles will be directed from the avenue through Leo Kiacheli and Giorgi Akhvlediani streets in the direction of Merab Kostava Street, and to Heroes Square through Niko Nikoladze Street.
Motorists heading to Tamar Chovelidze Street will be allowed through Kostava Street, while public transport heading from Melikishvili Avenue will be allowed towards either the avenue or Kostava Street and Heroes Square.
Finally, buses and minibuses heading from the avenue towards Heroes Square will be able to use Kiacheli and Nikoladze streets via Republic Square and then connect to Heroes Square via Kostava Street.
Municipal transport routes will not be affected in the reverse direction, the city authorities also announced.
