Georgia's cooperation with the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe was discussed by Ilia Darchiashvili, the Georgian foreign minister and Helga Schmid, the secretary general of the OSCE, as part of the United Nations general assembly in New York on Tuesday.
Darchiashvili thanked the secretary general for keeping the topic of Georgia “at a high level on the organisation's agenda” and for the involvement of the OSCE in the process of peaceful settlement of the conflict in the country, the Georgian foreign office said.
The parties discussed the current security environment in the South Caucasus region and Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, highlighting Georgia's “active involvement” in the implementation of actions supporting Ukraine within the framework of the organisation.
