Georgian foreign minister Ilia Darchiashvili on Monday highlighted Türkiye’s support for Georgia’s NATO integration, calling the Turkish government an “outstanding supporter” in the goal.
Türkiye is one of the outstanding supporters of our country's integration into NATO [...] - of course this cooperation and support is very valuable to us, and we continue to cooperate with our neighbour and strategic partner in this regard”, the top Georgian diplomat said.
Darchiashvili called European integration and NATO membership the “two main foreign priorities” for his government, adding the latter was “consistently implementing” the policy.
In other notes, the minister also said there was “no alternative to peace” in the South Caucasus region, which he added could be achieved through “joint efforts and coordination” ongoing between the government and its international partners.
