Anti-Corruption Agency detains 1 for bribery, attempted fraud

Officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia on Wednesday have detained the Head of the Military Registration, Recruitment and Mobilisation Service of Khelvachauri City Hall for group bribery and attempted fraud, the Service reported.

The Service said the detainee and his counterpart from Ozurgeti City Hall had agreed in advance to unofficially postpone a citizen’s compulsory military service and had taken bribe with the help of an intermediary individual.

The crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 11 years.
