Police have detained an employee of Tbilisi City Hall for bribe taking earlier today.
The investigation shows that the detained individual promised foreign businessmen to cut down healthy trees in the vicinity of a plot which they were going to buy in the nearest future, as they were going to build a road near the plot.
The employee of Tbilisi City Hall demanded $8,000 from the foreign citizens in exchange for the agreement, reports the State Security Service of Georgia (SSS).

Prosecutor of Tbilisi’s Didube-Chugureti district has been charged with bribery in exchange for agreeing to issue a plea bargain, says the Prosecution Service of Georgia. The crime is punishable by 11 to 15 years in prison.
