Officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service of Georgia have detained the chief specialist of the Registration Division of the Agency for Refugees, Eco-Migrants and Livelihoods for taking bribes.
The investigation found that an employee of the agency was taking bribes from eco-migrants in need of resettlement in exchange for approving them a grant of 25,000 GEL which is guaranteed to eco-migrants per the state programme.
In March 2021, he/she took 1,500 GEL from an eco-migrant in exchange for a house in Tsalka district, and 2,000 GEL in exchange for a house in Adigeni district in May of the same year", says the State Security Service of Georgia.
The investigation continues.
