Prosecutor charged with taking bribe in exchange for organising plea bargain

Prosecutor of Tbilisi’s Didube-Chugureti district has been charged with bribery in exchange for agreeing to issue a plea bargain, says the Prosecution Service of Georgia.

The Prosecution Service of Georgia says that the detainee received 20,000 GEL ($7,2078/€6,372) from the lawyer and the father of the defendant in order to agree to giving a plea bargain.

The crime is punishable by 11 to 15 years in prison.
