Enhancement of cooperation in transport, logistics, trade and tourism was discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and the Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The officials discussed the prospects of trade and economic relations, cooperation in the field of investments and the achievements in this regard, the Government Administration said.
The meeting focused on “close” friendly ties between the countries, and the “importance” of fully exploiting the existing potential in bilateral relations.
“[I] have come to you with one specific message to strengthen and increase our bilateral relations and deepen our ties in all directions. Trade turnover is increasing and last year there was a 42 percent increase in this regard”, Garibashvili said.

In his turn, Tokayev noted that Georgia and Kazakhstan enjoyed “close” ties and “friendly” relations.
[I] want to say that our countries enjoy close ties and friendship. Our task is to develop this friendship and cooperation into a continuing relationship”, Tokayev said.
