Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili arrived in Kazakhstan on Tuesday to hold high-level meetings with the country’s top officials in a bid to further intensify bilateral ties, the Georgian Government Administration said.

Bakhyt Sultanov, the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Giorgi Chkheidze, the temporary representative of Georgia to Kazakhstan, have welcomed the Georgian PM at Nursultan Nazarbayev International Airport shortly before.

Garibashvili, who chairs the Georgian delegation, was scheduled to hold several high-level meetings in the country.

Georgia and Kazakhstan established diplomatic relations back in July 1992.

The countries cooperate in the fields of energy, transport and agriculture.

Kazakhstan has been one of the key investors in Georgia for years, making investments mostly in the energy and tourism fields.
