PM’s visit to Kazakhstan “new impetus” in bilateral relations - FM

The visit of the Georgian Prime Minister to Kazakhstan will “certainly be a new impetus” in bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation and partnership between the states, the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili said on Wednesday. 

Darchiashvili stressed that Garibashvili’s visit would “certainly” be a “new impetus” in Georgia-Kazakhstan relations.

“[T]he visit of the Prime Minister will certainly be a new impetus in these relations, in order to strengthen this cooperation and partnership [with Kazakhstan], to create opportunities through this cooperation that will strengthen economic cooperation between our countries and regional cooperation in general, which is very important for trade and economic cooperation”, the top Georgian diplomat said.

Darchiashvili highlighted “very strong” bilateral relations with Kazakhstan by saying that “We had the opportunity to discuss with our counterparts how to further strengthen our relations”. 

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, who is on an official visit in Kazakhstan, discussed on Wednesday enhancement of cooperation in transport, logistics, trade and tourism with the Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
