Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili on Tuesday said the country’s prospects for European Union candidate status and “tangible mechanisms” for deepening its EU integration would be discussed within the framework of meetings during his two-day visit to Brussels starting today.
The head of the Georgian Government underlined he was “delighted” to commence his first working visit to Brussels since submitting the country’s EU self-assessment questionnaire.
“I will conduct meetings with European counterparts and have an opportunity to discuss Georgia's EU candidate status perspectives and tangible mechanisms for deepening our EU agenda,” Garibashvili tweeted.

Garibashvili is set to hold high-level bilateral meetings at the European Council, the European Commission, the European Parliament and NATO as part of his visit to Belgium.
Within the framework of a two-day visit, the head of the Georgian Government will discuss his country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration agenda, matters related to the questionnaire handed in by his Government, as well as the security situation in the Black Sea region.
