Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili is set to hold high-level bilateral meetings at the European Council, the European Commission, the European Parliament and NATO as part of his visit to Belgium, the Government Administration said on Tuesday.
Within the framework of a two-day visit, the head of the Georgian Government will discuss his country’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration agenda, matters related to the European Union membership questionnaire handed in by his Government, as well as the security situation in the Black Sea region.
Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili left for Brussels on Monday together with Garibashvili, to hold meetings with ministers of foreign affairs of EU member states.
On May 10, Garibashvili handed over the second completed part of the questionnaire, filled out by the country ahead of schedule, to Carl Hartzell, the Head of the EU Delegation to Georgia.
Based on the questionnaire, the European Commission will prepare an evaluation report on granting the candidate status to the country, with the relevant decision expected by the end of June.
