Bilateral relations and close cooperation in the process of Georgia's European integration was discussed on Wednesday in a meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili and his Portuguese counterpart João Gomes Cravinho.
The Ministers expressed readiness to intensify political dialogue between their states and deepen relations in “various fields”, including the ongoing process of Georgia's European Union membership application, the Georgian foreign office said.
Cravinho “highly assessed” Georgia’s progress on the European integration path, the Ministry also noted, while reiterating support for the country’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministers agreed to facilitate an exchange of high-level ties between the countries, with the Portuguese Minister extending an invitation to Darchiashvili to visit Lisbon.
