Participation of the Georgian Government in the Ministerial of the Global Coalition against ISIS on Wednesday reaffirmed that the country is “actively involved” in strengthening global security together with the international community, Ilia Darchiashvili, the Georgian Foreign Minister, said on Thursday.
Darchiashvili was taking part in the Ministerial Meeting, hosted between Tuesday and Thursday, at the invitation of the United States Secretary of State Anthony Blinken.
In meetings with his European counterparts, Georgia's European integration and the expectations the country has in the process of completing the European Commission questionnaire for EU membership were the principal topics, the Foreign Ministry said.
Darchiashvili said international partners of the Government had “once again” highlighted the “tangible results” of the country on its path to European integration.
“I think that the mood of our partners [toward Georgia] is very positive and we expect appreciation of the important reforms that Georgia has undergone,” Darchiashvili said.
During the event, the Georgian FM addressed participants of the Ministerial, focusing on Georgia's part in the international effort against terrorism, and held bilateral meetings with his counterparts.
