Georgia's part in the international effort against terrorism were in the focus of an address by Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili to the Ministerial Meeting of the Global Coalition against ISIS, hosted on Wednesday in Morocco.
Darchiashvili highlighted his Government's involvement and participation in ensuring global security over the years, as well as the country's direct involvement and support in the international coalition's activities.
In his speech the Georgian Minister noted that despite security challenges on the European continent and in the world, the fight against terrorism and extremism remained a "top priority" for the international community. He noted the actions taken by Georgian authorities to prevent the threat of terrorism, including the approval by the state of the Counterterrorism Strategy and Action Plan for 2022-2026, developed with multilateral involvement of the local authorities.
