Georgian, Chinese Foreign Ministers discuss “fruitful” cooperation

Georgian and Chinese Foreign Ministers Ilia Darchiashvili and Wang Yi  held a phone conversation on Wednesday to discuss a wide range of relations in “fruitful” cooperation between the two states.

The Chinese diplomat congratulated his counterpart on the recent appointment as Georgia’s Foreign Minister and wished him success in the position, the Georgian foreign office said. On his part, Darchiashvili thanked the Chinese Government for its humanitarian support to Georgia during the global pandemic.

Speaking to Darchiashvili, Wang also reaffirmed China's “unwavering” support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The Ministers highlighted the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and China, marked this year. The Chinese Foreign Minister also extended an official invitation to Beijing to his Georgian counterpart.
