The Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has arrested an Armenian citizen for importing large quantities of undeclared precious metal products across the customs border of Georgia, the state body said on Thursday.

The IS said the arrested individual had smuggled 631 grams of palladium products worth ₾110,027 (about $36,054/€33,994) while circumventing customs control through the Sadakhlo Border Crossing Point in the south of the country.

The state authority said the goods imported in violation of customs rules were confiscated from the arrested violator.
