February 2021: money transfers to Georgia up 17.5%

Georgia received $161.4 million from abroad in February 2021, which is 17.5% more than the amount in February 2020, says the National Bank of Georgia.

Italy ($28.55 million), Greece ($19.71 million) and Russia ($25.14 million) were the largest remittance senders in February 2021.

Overall, the vast majority (94.8%) of all money transfers from abroad came from 19 countries.

Last month, remittances leaving Georgia totalled $21 million, as compared to $21.7 million in February 2020.

January 2021: money transfers to Georgia up 19.2%

Georgia received $149.8 million from abroad in January 2021, which is 19.2% more than the amount in January 2020, says the National Bank of Georgia.

December 2020: money transfers to Georgia up 15.9%

April 2021: money transfers to Georgia up 145.4%

Georgia received $194.1 million from abroad in April 2021, which is 145.4% more than the amount in April 2020, says the National Bank of Georgia. Russia ($33.35 million), Italy ($31.73 million) and the United States ($24.88 million) were the largest remittance senders in April 2021.

May 2021: money transfers to Georgia up 42.4%
