Police detain 11 drug dealers in Tbilisi and Marneuli

Georgian law enforcers of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) have detained 11 drug dealers in Ponichala district in Tbilisi and in Marneuli earlier today.

The detainees have been accused of the illegal purchase, possession and sale of drugs in especially large quantities.

The crime is punishable by eight to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.

Based on the judge's decision, the law enforcers covertly purchased heroin drug from the detained individuals and audio-video taped the process", reads the press-release published by the MIA.

During the personal search and search activities held in residential houses, the police seized drugs prepared and ready for sale, namely 45 packages of heroin and cash.
