The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia reports that police arrested 12 individuals for the purchase and possession of large amounts of drugs in Tbilisi and Adjara in December.
Two of the 12 arrested individuals are citizens of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The MIA reports that they are accused of the illegal purchase and possession of drugs in especially large quantities, smuggling on the territory of Georgia and attempted drug-dealing.
Georgian police officers seized two kilograms of cocaine and over five kilograms of heroin during a search of the suspects.
The MIA also reports that as of December 22 of this year, a total of 136 drug dealers have been arrested. Police have seized about 19 kg of heroin, four kg of cocaine, 5,000 pills of Subutex, three kilos of alpha-PVP, 26 kg of bio drugs and other drug substances.
