New Year events to be held across country on December 24 - January 8

New Year events will be held in all Georgian regions from December 24 until January 8 with Covid regulations observed, per the initiative of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili. 

The Georgian government administration reports that Christmas fairs, exhibitions and children's entertainment spaces will be organised in all 63 municipalities of the country.

The area will house wooden Christmas houses, photo booths and installations…Concerts of both local and invited performers from the capital will be held in the evening. The events will end with festive fireworks,” the administration reports.

The schedule for the New Year events is as follows:

  • December 24 - Mestia, Tkibuli, Telavi
  • December 25 - Ozurgeti, Ninotsminda, Kareli, Dusheti
  • December 26 - Marneuli, Chkhorotsku, Terjola, Gurjaani
  • December 27 - Sachkhere, Khashuri, Akhalkalaki, Ozurgeti
  • December 28 - Abasha, Samtredia, Lagodekhi, Tetritskaro
  • December 29 - Aspindza, Khelvachauri, Kaspi, Ambrolauri, Chiatura
  • December 30 - Kutaisi, Dedoplistskaro, Gardabani, Tianeti
  • December 31 - Zugdidi, Borjomi, Tsageri
  • January 1 - Baghdati
  • January 2- Tsalka, Akhmeta, Keda, Oni, Kazbegi, Tskaltubo
  • January 3 - Senaki, Vani
  • January 4 - Khoni, Rustavi, Shuakhevi, Adigeni, Kvareli
  • January 5 - Zestaponi, Khobi, Dmanisi, Tsnori, Signagi
  • January 6 - Martvili, Khulo, Bolnisi

The Georgian government declared January 1-10 a public holiday in Georgia for ‘reducing mobility’ in the country following confirmation of 24 cases of the new Omicron variant of coronavirus, Chief of the Operational Staff of the Interagency Coordination Council, Giorgi Gibradze, announced yesterday.
