Georgia’s main New Year tree will light up tomorrow on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi at 20:00, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced earlier today.

Kaladze invited the people of Tbilisi to the event, stating that ‘it has become a tradition to light up the main New Year tree’ in Tbilisi.

Unlike last year, when we were not able to hold a public event, this year we are going to put it up in front of the Parliament building,” said Kaladze.

He also stated that a New Year Village will open on December 24 at Orbeliani Square and Deda Ena garden which will operate until January 14.

Concerts and various activities for children will be held daily in the New Year Village.

Visitors of the village will also be greeted by an open-air cinema, a decorated ice rink and many New Year installations,” Kaladze added.
