Tbilisi’s Vera Park, one of the oldest recreational centres in the city, will be renovated, acting Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze announced today.
Renovations — costing 700,000 GEL — are to take place in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Kaladze said, Vera Park, which is a site of Georgia’s cultural heritage, needs full renovation. However, “special attention will be given to maintaining its original appearance”, he added.
The renovation is projected to be finished within a year.
Another popular park in Tbilisi, Vake Park, has been closed for renovation since February. It is set to be reopened by the end of the year.
