The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with communications agency Zinc Network will develop a series of public service announcements to bust vaccine myths in Georgia, inform the public about the benefits of getting vaccinated and share fact-based information about vaccines.
The Covid-19 response activities will total $5.4 million in new assistance from the American people to the Georgian people, civil society, and others", announced USAID today.
USAID announced that additional programmes and trusted international partners will be announced in the coming months.

The Covid-19 response activities aim to facilitate increased access to safe and effective Covid-19 vaccines, with a focus on vulnerable and hard to reach populations, and to further strengthen the ability of Georgia’s healthcare system to prevent, detect and respond to cases of Covid-19.
USAID and Enterprise Georgia have launched a two-year partnership to facilitate Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Georgia, help the country's private sector recover from the Covid-19 pandemic and build a more innovative economy that creates higher-value jobs for Georgian workers.

The United States has allocated an additional $600,000 to help bolster Georgia’s healthcare system in the face of the COVID-19 crisis, says the US Embassy in Tbilisi.
A total of 1,997 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting 17,485 rapid tests and 14,586 PCR tests over the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 1,232 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and 52 infected patients have died.
Georgia has reported 662 new cases of coronavirus, 3,534 recoveries and 34 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia has stated that she is ‘alarmed and concerned’ by the recent drop of vaccination rate in the country.
Georgia has reported 2,016 new cases of coronavirus, 2,024 recoveries and 43 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 23,925 people remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 29,798 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 16,852 of the 29,798 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,946 were PCR tests.
Georgia has reported 2,470 new cases of coronavirus, 2,243 recoveries and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours. A total of 23,976 people remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 34,250 tests were conducted around the country in the last 24 hours. 22,726 of the 34,250 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,524 were PCR tests. Georgia has had 598,396 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
A total of 1,132 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting 20,789 tests over the 24 hours. Meanwhile, 2,956 patients have recovered from the coronavirus and 30 infected individuals have died.
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is launching a new five-year Rule of Law programme that aims to strengthen the Georgian justice system "by consolidating and building upon past judicial reforms."
