Georgia reports 1,132 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours

A total of 1,132 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting 20,789 tests over the 24 hours.

Out of the new cases:

419 were reported in Tbilisi
172 were reported in imereti
156 were reported in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti
151 were reported in Kakheti
73 were reported in Adjara
61 were reported in Kvemo Kartli
47 were reported in Shida Kartli
29 were reported in Samtskhe-Javakheti
12 were reported in Mtskheta-Mtianeti
9 were reported in Guria
3 were reported in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti

Meanwhile, 2,956 patients have recovered from the coronavirus and 30 infected individuals have died.

As of now Georgia has confirmed 606,492 cases of Covid-19 since February, 2020. This includes 576,498 recoveries, 8,817 deaths and 21,151 active cases of the coronavirus.

$15 mln ADB loan to help Georgia procure Covid-19 vaccines

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $15 million loan to support Georgia’s National Vaccines Deployment Plan by purchasing and delivering an estimated 700,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines as well as syringes, safety boxes, and other items for administering vaccines. ADB’s project will procure enough vaccines to inoculate about 300,000 people in Georgia.

Labor Inspection finds violations in remuneration of medical staff in 111 Covid clinics throughout Georgia

The Labor Inspection Service of the Georgian Health Ministry has found that in the vast majority of Covid clinics salaries for doctors are unequally distributed while in some hospitals employees have not received vacation and medical leave payments in recent months.

Elections 2021: Covid-19 patients, individuals in self-isolation, quarantine will be able to vote

Covid-19 patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals and individuals in self-isolation or quarantine will be able to participate in the upcoming October 2 self-government elections, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) has reported. "Covid-19 patients in our country will be able to use ballot papers for the election of the mayor and proportional representation and consequently, will be able to exercise their right to vote,” Deputy Chairman of the CEC Giorgi Sioridze said.

Georgia reports 663 new cases of coronavirus, positivity rate down to 4.99%

Georgia has reported 663 new cases of coronavirus, 2,383 recoveries and 27 deaths in the past 24 hours. The positivity rate has come down to 4.99% of tested individuals for Covid-19 as of September 26 in comparison to 6.48% of last two weeks. In total, 13,277 tests have been conducted around the country of which 7,302 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 5,975 were PCR tests. Currently 19,404 individuals remain infected with Covid-19.

Georgia has reported 2,185 new cases of coronavirus, 2,010 recoveries and 40 deaths in the past 24 hours. 19,538 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 31,216 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 19,877 of the 31,216 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,339 were PCR tests.
