The Labor Inspection Service of the Georgian Health Ministry has found that in the vast majority of Covid clinics  salaries for doctors are unequally distributed while in some hospitals employees have not received vacation and medical leave payments  in recent months.

The Labour Inspection Service received complaints of medical staff who have been working in Covid clinics in difficult conditions for several months . They complained that employers did not give them salary supplements”, said Peradze.

The Head of the Labor Inspection Service Beka Peradze said that clinics will be fined for violations and they will have to compensate employees for all losses.

Beka Peradze refrained from identifying the clinics where the Labor Inspection Service found violations.

Other clinics throughout the country will also be inspected in the coming future to determine whether there are irregularities in the remuneration of medical staff.

In late August, 2021 the Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze said that the ministry ‘has been giving supplements to doctors for almost a year and the remuneration of all medical staff is quite high’ in Georgia.
