Paramedics and ambulance personnel in Georgia will receive 500 GEL (about $160/€136) salary supplements, Georgian Health Minister Ekaterine Tikaradze has announced today.

Minister Tikaradze underlined that ambulance doctors from all Georgian regions will receive the salary supplements, noting that they have been working in very difficult conditions.

She also said that various opposition political parties try ‘to set the Georgian government and doctors against each other,’ noting that there is no time for ‘such controversies.’

We have been giving supplements to doctors for almost a year...The remuneration of all medical staff is quite high,” said Tikaradze.
