Coronavirus in Georgia: 1,653 new cases, 2,646 recoveries, 47 deaths

Georgia has reported 1,653 new cases of coronavirus, 2,646 recoveries and 47 deaths in the last 24 hours.
A total of 22,885 people remain infected with Covid-19 in the country.
28,553 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,965 of the 28,553 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,588 were PCR tests.
The new 1,653 cases were recorded in:
- Tbilisi - 559 cases
- Adjara - 100 cases
- Imereti - 227 cases
- Kvemo Kartli - 116 cases
- Shida Kartli - 117 cases
- Guria - 35 cases
- Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti - 180 cases
- Kakheti - 241 cases
- Mtskheta-Mtianeti - 43 cases
- Samtskhe-Javakheti - 29 cases
- Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti - 6 cases
4,915 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals as of today. 1,138 of the 4,915 patients are in critical condition. 305 of the 1,138 critical patients are on artificial ventilation.
Overall 17,040 individuals are undergoing treatment at home.
19,056 people are in self-isolation.
1,700,895 individuals have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, out of which 740,814 people have been fully vaccinated.
In general, 570,443 of the 602,065 patients have recovered while 8,711 have died from the coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Georgia has reported 2,016 new cases of coronavirus, 2,024 recoveries and 43 deaths in the last 24 hours. A total of 23,925 people remain infected with Covid-19 in the country. 29,798 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 16,852 of the 29,798 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 12,946 were PCR tests.
Covid-19 patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals and individuals in self-isolation or quarantine will be able to participate in the upcoming October 2 self-government elections, the Central Elections Commission (CEC) has reported. "Covid-19 patients in our country will be able to use ballot papers for the election of the mayor and proportional representation and consequently, will be able to exercise their right to vote,” Deputy Chairman of the CEC Giorgi Sioridze said.
Georgia has reported 2,470 new cases of coronavirus, 2,243 recoveries and 46 deaths in the past 24 hours. A total of 23,976 people remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 34,250 tests were conducted around the country in the last 24 hours. 22,726 of the 34,250 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 11,524 were PCR tests. Georgia has had 598,396 cases of coronavirus since February 26, 2020.
Georgian Deputy Health Minister Tamar Gabunia has stated that she is ‘alarmed and concerned’ by the recent drop of vaccination rate in the country.
Head of Infectious Diseases and AIDS Centre of Tbilisi Tengiz Tsertsvadze has called the low rate of coronavirus vaccination in Georgia ‘apocalypse and a sabotage against the state by Georgian citizens.’
The Labor Inspection Service of the Georgian Health Ministry has found that in the vast majority of Covid clinics salaries for doctors are unequally distributed while in some hospitals employees have not received vacation and medical leave payments in recent months.
Georgia has reported 1,698 new cases of coronavirus, 1,910 recoveries and 38 deaths in the past 24 hours. 22,635 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 25,692 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 15,310 of the 25,692 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 10,382 were PCR tests.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $15 million loan to support Georgia’s National Vaccines Deployment Plan by purchasing and delivering an estimated 700,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines as well as syringes, safety boxes, and other items for administering vaccines. ADB’s project will procure enough vaccines to inoculate about 300,000 people in Georgia.
