The adult vaccination rate in Georgia stands at 23% as of September 16, says the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The National Centre for Disease Control says that 928,192 individuals (32.5 per cent of the country’s adult population) have received at least one dose of the vaccine in the country so far, while 660,832 (23.1 per cent of the country’s adult population) have received two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

A total of 25,150 Individuals received the coronavirus vaccine yesterday.
Epidemiologists say that it is not possible to defeat the pandemic without the vaccination of at least 60 per cent of the country’s population of 3.7 million by the end of 2021.

A total of 160 vaccinated citizens have won cash prizes in a 2.8 million GEL lottery initiated by the Georgian government to boost the Covid-19 vaccination rates in the country which started yesterday. The results of the lottery have been published earlier today on the website www.stopcov.lotto.ge. Out of 160 winners, 10 people won 500 GEL while the remaining 150 individuals won 100 GEL prizes. The lottery will be held every day and winners will be revealed on a daily basis until December 31, 2021.
Georgia has released the application Covid Pass which allows people to get information about their Covid-19 status online. The Coordination Council decided to allow individuals who recovered from coronavirus in the last six months to attend public events without having a vaccination certificate or a negative test result.
Georgian health officials have warned the public that the next wave of Covid-19 will be ‘critically dangerous’ for unvaccinated individuals above 60.
A 101-year-old woman has recovered from coronavirus in the western Georgian town of Kutaisi. Tamara Pkhakadze is one of the 106,328 individuals who have defeated COVID-19 in Georgia so far. Expressing her gratitude to the hospital employees Tamara Pkhakadze said she feels very well now.
Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has received his second jab of the Pfizer vaccine early today. PM Garibashvili has again spoken about the safety of the vaccines and the importance of vaccination to defeat the coronavirus pandemic.
Georgia has reported 2,039 new cases of coronavirus, 2,192 recoveries and 56 deaths in the past 24 hours. 26,484 remain infected with Covid-19 in Georgia. 31,532 tests were conducted around the country in the past 24 hours. 18,378 of the 31,532 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 13,154 were PCR tests.
A total of 1,997 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 in Georgia after conducting 17,485 rapid tests and 14,586 PCR tests over the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 1,232 individuals have recovered from the coronavirus and 52 infected patients have died.
