A third dose of Covid-19 vaccines will likely be needed to build stronger artificial immunity in the population, Head of the National Centre for Disease Control Amiran Gamkrelidze said today.

A lot of international scientific research is underway in order to determine whether a third dose of the vaccine is needed to build stronger artificial immunity in the population. Most likely  a booster dose will be needed. Scientists also think that the coronavirus infection may become a seasonal infection that will need one injection per year”, said Gamkrelidze.

Gamkrelidze said as of yet there is no set period within which the third booster dose to be taken.
