Georgia reports 521 cases of Covid-19 in past 24 hours

Covid-19 tests carried out in Georgia over the past 24 hours revealed 521 cases of the virus, with 12 deaths and 911 recoveries.
Health officials reported 18,737 tests on individuals in the country in the time span, while the new infections took the number of active cases to 8,973.
Positivity rate of new cases, used to measure severity of infections, remained at 2.78 percent, considered manageable by health agencies and professionals.
Of the tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 9,329 were done using the rapid method, while 9,408 were PCR tests.
Authorities also reported the national number of vaccinated individuals had reached 233,488.
Covid-19 tests have revealed 769 new cases of the virus in Georgia over the past 24 hours, with 17 deaths from infections.

In total, 27,956 tests have been conducted around the country of which 18,953 tests were rapid tests, while the remaining 9,003 were PCR tests. Since February 26, 2020 Georgia has had 360,055 cases of coronavirus, 346,217 recoveries and 5,199 deaths.
