Georgian rescuers have saved a Czech tourist after getting trapped in an avalanche in the winter resort of Tetnuldi, in the western Svaneti region of Georgia today.The press office of the Emergency Management Service says that the rescuers are searching for one individual at the moment.
The Mayor of Mestia Municipality of Svaneti region, Kapiton Zhorzholiani said that the tourist was injured during skiing.
The press office of the Emergency Management Service said that the tourist’s life is not in danger. He has an upper lamb injury.
With the assistance of the employees of the Emergency Management Service and ambulance the injured tourist was transferred to a hospital in Mestia.
Emergency Management Service says that search operation is underway in order to find another individual who was also trapped in an avalanche.
