The opposition says that the ruling party’s majoritarian candidates, who have been nominated earlier today, have been selected according to their ‘obedience to the founder and the head of the ruling party Bidzina Ivanishvili’ and that ‘they are symbols of a bankrupt political force.’

United National Movement opposition MP Roman Gitsiridze says that the ruling party’s list of 30 majoritarian candidates is composed of ‘former official-bureaucrats, the MPs who have done nothing over the past four years and the corrupt businessmen who want to be in parliament to benefit their own businesses.’

The list is what failure would look like if it had a human face,” Gotsiridze said.

UNM MP Salome Samadashvili stated that the list ‘is the face of a bankrupt political force.’

The ruling party says that the opposition has ‘zero chances’ to win the elections.

Ivanishvili said the opposition’s recent refusal to vote for the constitutional changes has ‘once again revealed that it is a force [that wants to take revenge] and their main goal is to grab power.’
