Girchi, a libertarian party well-known for its outlandish demonstrations and campaigns, says it will raffle away a Tesla car for voters who come out for the October parliamentary elections and if the party makes it over the 1% threshold into parliament.

The party says that the goal of the step is to encourage voters to participate in the upcoming, October parliamentary elections which will be conducted in a different manner, allowing parties or election blocs to enter the legislative body if they receive just one per cent of votes.

The voters will have to register on the party’s page and take a photo after casting a ballot to participate in the raffle.

The party will be able to raffle the car if they will be able to enter parliament and receive the state funding.

According to the proposed changes to the Georgian election code if a party receives 50,000 votes in the elections (three per cent of the total vote) the party will receive 15 lari for a single vote in state funding – a total of 750,000 GEL.

For each vote after 50,000 votes, the party will receive 5 GEL.

The more votes we receive, the more Tesla cars we will give away at the raffle,” says the party.

Girchi’s previous extraordinary demonstrations included opening a brothel in its headquarters and planting marijuana seeds on New Year’s Eve.
