Every individual with a fever or other respiratory symptoms must consult a doctor, Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia said earlier today.
He noted that as the virus has been eradicated in the country and some restrictions have been lifted, the timely identification of possible cases and treatment is very important for now.
Every person with fever or other respiratory symptoms must call 112 or a family doctor, in order to be tested for Covid-19 with a rapid PCR (polymerase chain reaction) [test]", said Gakharia.
As of today, the source of four recently infected patients has not been identified in Georgia. The government and epidemiologists urge people to stick to the recommendations despite some of the restrictions that have been lifted in the country.
Head of the National Disease Control Centre Amiran Gamkrelidze said earlier today that Georgia plans to test 6,000-8,000 people daily for Covid-19 in autumn.
