The de-facto government of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali region of Georgia has confirmed two new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 25 in the region.
RES media outlet reports that among the newly infected individuals, one is a student of a Russian military academy, who was placed under quarantine in Tskhinvali region before the symptoms of the virus appeared.
Specialists of the Stavropolsky Antiplague Scientific Research Institute came to Tskhinvali to provide local doctors with practical and methodological assistance.
All public spaces, except for food markets and beauty salons, will remain closed in South Ossetia until May 31.
The de-facto government of the Russian-occupied Tskhinvali has completely closed its so-called “border” with Russia from May 10 to May 17 to contain the spread of coronavirus.
The temporary ban on border crossing applies to all ‘non-citizens’ without exception. The ban also applies to trucks.
RES media reports that as of now 300 individuals are under quarantine in Tskhinvali region.
