Two Georgian citizens die of coronavirus in New York and Latvia

Two Georgian citizens have died of the coronavirus in New York and Latvia, the Georgian Foreign Ministry confirmed earlier today.

Both individuals suffered from underlying illnesses. 

The Georgian man who died of COVID-19 in the US was 80 years old and diabetic, while the other man who died in Latvia was a 53-year-old who had underlying heart issues.

As of today 11 Georgian citizens have died of the virus abroad.

The number of coronavirus cases stands at 496 in Georgia as of April 27. 149 people of the 496 have recovered, while six others have died. 339 people remain infected with the virus inside the country. 

4,833 people are under quarantine and 571 others are in hospitals.
